On Saturday, May 11, at 8pm in Sanders Theatre, the Harvard Radcliffe Chorus presents Brahms and Mendelssohn: Poetry in Song. Featuring professional soloists and a professional orchestra, the chorus performs—in English—Brahms’s lyrical settings of the poetry of Friedrich Hölderlin (Song of Destiny) and Friedrich Schiller (Nänie), alongside Mendelssohn’s spritely setting of Goethe’s Druidic poem in celebration of May Day, The First Walpurgis Night.
