Cultivate boundless qualities of heart through dance and music.You have to keep breaking your heart until it opens, Rumi
The divine abidings (the Brahmaviharas) are beautiful qualities and attitudes of the heart: the four faces of unconditional love. They are made up of loving kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity. Together, we will cultivate these beautiful, boundless qualities of the heart through dance and music. We will explore what is arising for us as we gently orient towards and invite these qualities. There will be a range of music, from mantra music to house, techno, and disco, alongside some invitations throughout the dance. We'll start off with an opening circle and some suggested ways to practice together. We will dance for around 90 minutes, and then close with some time to be with, witness, and to be witnessed by others. No experience with ecstatic dance or the brahmaviharas is required. The event will be drug and alcohol free. Mrinank will donate his share of the proceeds to Givewell.
Mrinank Sharma loves cultivating the beautiful qualities of the heart known as the brahmaviharas, as well as dancing, poetry, DJing, and soulmaking. He has been deeply moved by the teachings of Rob Burbea. Today, like every other day, he is learning how to let the beauty he loves be what he does. Beside that, he can also sometimes be found thinking about AI, walking very, very slowly, and speaking to birds and trees.
