Learn how to overhaul a bike from top to bottom in this fun 6-week bike mechanic class!
About this Event

Want to learn how to fix up your old bike in the basement, or build up a new one from old parts?

Over 6 weeks, this class will cover completely taking apart, cleaning and rebuilding a bicycle. You will learn how to repair flat tires, overhaul bearing systems, replace brake and shifter cables and housing, adjust brakes, shifters, and derailleurs, and do basic problem-solving on your bike.

Participants will practice this in pairs on a bike that has been donated to BSBC and which will eventually be sold or donated to someone in need.

This 6-session class will take place 1- 5 PM on Sundays at the Bradley Street Bicycle Co-op, from April 19th through May 24th.

This class is open to the general public with the goal of building skills for existing and future BSBC volunteers!

Cost

The full cost per ticket is $200 (+ ticketing fees). This money will go to cover instructional resources and the use of the BSBC space.

A BSBC Volunteer discount, and reduced cost tickets of $150 are available for those who need them, please email [email protected] with the Subject "BAB Discount" or "Volunteer Discount" for more information.

Those who want to support reduced-cost tickets for other students in need can purchase a 'redistribution' ticket priced at $240 (+ticketing fees).
