Brackenridge Villa in Bloom

Headwaters at Incarnate Word, founded by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, is excited to announce - Brackenridge Villa in Bloom- May 16 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the historic Brackenridge Villa. Brackenridge Villa in Bloom is our inaugural fundraiser bringing together our friends, benefactors, and community members who support the conservation and protection of the Headwaters Sanctuary, a 53-acre natural area in the heart of San Antonio.

Since 2005, the Headwaters mission has been to protect and restore Sanctuary native habitat; promote biodiversity; and raise awareness of the importance of land stewardship. This unique and beautiful green space has become a treasured destination for many in our area, offering opportunities for meaningful connection to the natural world through our walking trails, large pollinator garden, birding corridor, and environmental education programs. Most importantly, the Sanctuary protects the Land that shelters the origins of the San Antonio River - the Blue Hole - which has shaped San Antonio since its founding.

Ticket holders will enjoy an engaging and entertaining evening of cocktails, appetizers, and a selection of silent auction items as well as opportunities to tour the beautiful home that was once the residence of Col. George W. Brackenridge. We will recognize Headwaters’ past three board chairs: Sr Helena Monahan, Sr Yolanda Tarango; and T. Weir Labatt, III for their contributions to the ministry.
