Our summer program will follow COVID-19 protocol as mandated by the state of Connecticut.
The summer program at Breezy Pines Farm is a fun learning experience designed for boys and girls ages 4 and up. We teach all levels of riding and horse care. Each participant enjoys an exciting morning of horse related fun and education. Our indoor and outdoor arena allows us to ride, no matter the weather!
Each day students will ride for at least one hour, in small groups according to ability. A typical day can include activities such as feeding, equipment care, stall care, show preparation, clipping and bathing. Other topics covered during the week may be wrapping, trailering, and discussions on colors, conformation and horse health. During ride time students will participate in typical lessons, as well as mounted exercises and games aimed at increasing the rider’s comfort level, balance and flexibility.
The program runs Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. It is open to children of all riding abilities and experience. Enrollment is limited to 8 students per week session, so reserve your space now! The cost is $325 per week, but register with a deposit of $50 before April 15th and get a $25 discount!
**ALL Participants must wear shoes with 1-2 inch heeled boots, long pants and approved riding helmets. Helmets are available to borrow for students who do not have their own. Participants may change into shorts after riding and are encouraged to bring lunch and a cold drink. A refrigerator is available. It is also recommended that students bring bug spray and sunscreen.
