Boys Will Be Dogs
About this Event
Lacrosse star Logan has a lot going for him; he’s sixteen, has a near-guaranteed scholarship to Yale, and just got his very first girlfriend. But when pressures mount and Logan turns to alt-right manosphere podcasts for guidance, the adults in his life - his elder sister Sloane, her spouse Blue, and their roommate Teddy - are all too busy to notice.
As the roommates navigate queer friendship, shared secrets, and a particularly violent neighborhood dog named Cupcake, Logan’s mentality deteriorates in the foreground, played out in an abstract space called “the turf” where he perceives himself as a dog on his girlfriend Robin’s leash. When this radicalization erupts in an act of violence too big to ignore, will Sloane, Blue and Teddy be able to help him? Will they even want to?
A play about what makes a good dog go bad, and whether or not they can learn new tricks once they do.
