About this Event

On two consecutive weekends, April 17-19 and April 24-26, Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) in Ossining will present Box Spring 2026: A Festival of One-Act Plays. Six highly engaging, never-seen-before comedic and dramatic plays written, directed and performed by local talent, will debut at the company’s black box theater located at 23 Water Street, Ossining, NY.

The plays are:

Old Friends, Inc., written and directed by Peter Andrews (Mahopac), featuring Lorelei Velez (Ossining), Jim Leeper (Tarrytown), and Benna Strober (Bedford Hills)

A woman catches her husband romancing his dead lover on the web.

Oven Light by Pat O’Neill (Bronx), directed by Julia LaVerde (Irvington), featuring Robert Ansbro II (Mahopac) and Jessica Beitscher (Mohegan Lake).

The lights are on, but is anyone home?

Pivot, written and directed by Jessica W. Bonds (Yonkers), featuring Chasity Vargas (Ossining) and Maiysha Jones Reilly (White Plains).

A sudden crisis compels a mother and daughter to confront a generational trauma which paves a path toward understanding, reconciliation, and healing.

The Walk-Up, written by Lori M. Myers (Nanuet), directed by Mario Giacalone (Croton on Hudson), featuring Robert Ansbro II (Mahopac), Michael Candelario (New Rochelle), and Kelly Kirby (Dobbs Ferry).

An out-of-step couple gets more than they bargained for while climbing an apartment stairway.

The Dance by Eric Suben (Mamaroneck), directed by Brenda Hettmansberger (Ossining), featuring Dan Slavin (Scarborough), Shawn Kennedy Cribari (Yorktown), Gretchen Craig and Robert Santiago (Carmel).

A surprise visit from their adult children gives Bernie and Ceil a new look at their long, long marriage.

I Wonder, written and directed by Howard Larson, featuring Samantha Darling, Brian Bagot and Julian Hargrove


Performances will be on Friday and Saturday evenings, Saturday and Sunday matinees, April 17-19, 24-26 Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm; Saturday matinees at 2 pm and Sunday matinees at 3 pm. Tickets are $25, $20 for seniors, students and WCT members.
