Join us for the next Blues on the Water cruise on Saturday, 16 November 2024 (boarding at 11:30am), featuring Bill Barber and The Holding Cell — winners of the 2023 Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society Memphis Blues competition — with support from NSW's The Arc Riders on the stunning boat The Harbour Spirit.Formed in 2023, The Holding Cell is a powerhouse band with hard-hitting rhythms, soulful arrangements, and raw, powerful vocals. Their sound blends southern blues with aggressive, emotive energy, and they’ve had a stellar year — winning top awards, playing sold-out shows, and performing at major blues festivals like Blues on Broadbeach.
Their debut LP, "The Muscle Shoals Sessions," recorded live at the legendary FAME Studios in Alabama, is set to release in July 2024.
