[ PAROLES ET MUSIQUE ]Yves Léveillé et trois grands artistes Eri Yamamoto, Ikuo Takeuchi et Franc Lozano présentent leur projet The Japan Project, mémoires et improvisation, le 11 février 2023 au Théâtre Outremont !
Au programme une belle soirée de musique Jazz dans l'intimité du Petit Outremont.
Depuis leur album en duo « Pianos » sortie en 2010, les pianistes et compositeur.e.s de jazz Eri Yamamoto (New York) et Yves Léveillé (Montréal) ont développé une relation artistique profonde où la complicité naturelle et créative est au rendez-vous.
Se joint aux deux collègues le batteur new-yorkais Ikuo Takeuchi collaborateur de longue date de la pianiste, musicien au jeu dynamique et inspiré. L’excellent saxophoniste montréalais Frank Lozano complète le groupe, apportant toute sa versatilité et imagination venue du monde de l’improvisation jazz.
Bien qu’issus de milieux musicaux et culturels différents, les artistes entretiennent un rapport musical particulier illustré par la compréhension commune d’un langage universel qui ne connaît pas de frontière.
Le Japan Project ; mémoires et improvisations se veut une rencontre artistique qui marie le jazz nord-américain, le jazz Européen et les racines Japonaises de nos collègues Nippon. Au programme des musiques originales composées par les quatre artistes.

Yves Léveillé and three great artists Eri Yamamoto, Ikuo Takeuchi and Franc Lozano present their project The Japan Project, memories and improvisation, on February 11, 2023 at Théâtre Outremont!
On the program, a beautiful evening of jazz music in the intimacy of the Petit Outremont.
Since their duo album "Pianos" released in 2010, jazz pianists and composers Eri Yamamoto (New York) and Yves Léveillé (Montreal) have developed a deep artistic relationship where natural and creative complicity is the order of the day.
The two colleagues are joined by New York drummer Ikuo Takeuchi, a long-time collaborator of the pianist and a musician with a dynamic and inspired playing style. The excellent Montreal saxophonist Frank Lozano completes the group, bringing all his versatility and imagination from the world of jazz improvisation.
Although they come from different musical and cultural backgrounds, the artists have a special musical relationship illustrated by a common understanding of a universal language that knows no boundaries.
The Japan Project; memories and improvisations is an artistic encounter that combines North American jazz, European jazz and the Japanese roots of our Japanese colleagues. The program will feature original music by the musicians.
