Expect the unexpected in this concert of unusual pairings. William Byrd meets Roxanna Panufnik. Finnish composer Jaakko Mäntyjärvi brings his highly inventive style to the familiar sounds of William Billings and Orlando Gibbons. Soprano saxophone expands the colors of an a cappella choir in works by Christian Foreshaw. And as if that weren’t enough, CVAE will sing in Icelandic for the first time, featuring a beautiful hymn setting by Anna Thorvaldsdottir.Adults $30/Students/Youth $10. General Admission.
