BRIAN TOHANA
I’ve been a coach for relationships since 2016 and currently work with individuals and couples on complex trauma, codependency, communication, conflict, intimacy and more. I’m currently completing a masters to become a registered psychologist and own Caring for Couples Counselling Center, one of the top reviewed couples counselling centers in Toronto.
Through writing the book Confident Boundaries: Free Yourself from People-Pleasing, Guilt & Codependency to Create Interdependent Relationships (available on Amazon), I gained profound insight into how incredibly important boundaries are for our personal and relational development. The dance of relationship is regulated by boundaries. They are how we regulate opposing needs for space vs closeness, autonomy vs union, individuality vs connection. SACHA BRYCE
As a Highly Sensitive Person with strong people-pleasing tendencies, I’ve really struggled with boundaries! I learned the hard way (as most of us do) that weak or non-existent boundaries (self-betrayal) led me to endure experiences I didn’t want and resulted in me feeling resentful.
In my experience, people-pleasing & fawning tendencies (though thought of as being kind) got me into a lot hurtful and destructive situations with people that I cared a lot about.
It’s an honour to share the tools and awareness that have helped me on this journey of discovering the immense connection, pleasure, inner-safety and intimacy that exists on the other side of exercising my boundaries.
As an Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) Certification Trainer, I love working with people on a somatic level to help dissolve fear-based patterns stored in the body that get in the way of them living their best life and expressing the fullness of their most alive & authentic selves!
