About this Event

Pastoral leadership carries deep relational responsibility, and without clear boundaries, that responsibility can quietly become unsustainable. This workshop is designed to help ministry leaders clarify their role, strengthen healthy boundaries, and cultivate rhythms that protect both leaders and those they serve.

Together, we’ll explore how pastors can engage others with care and wisdom without over-functioning, burning out, or drifting into roles they were never meant to carry. The day will offer practical frameworks, theological reflection, and space for honest conversation about the pressures and expectations ministry leaders face.

Featuring Phil Herndon

Phil spent 15 years serving as a pastor in Texas before moving into clinical leadership. He served as Clinical Director at the Center for Professional Excellence from 2005–2020 and is now Clinical Director and co-owner of River Tree, where he focuses on developing and equipping clinicians who walk with people through addiction, anxiety, depression, spiritual struggle, and burnout.

Phil lives in Murfreesboro with his wife, Sheila, and their son, Luke.
