Bounce SF pres: Bárbara Lago

Bárbara Lago was born in a small town in the north of Spain. Since 2015 she settled in A Coruña and developed musically starting her career as a DJ.

From the age of 16 she began to take an interest in electronic music by attending events until, at the age of 22, she went a step further and decided to buy her first equipment to give free rein to her interests. A year later she began to perform in public in local clubs.

It was in 2016 when, after playing several times at Wake Up Electronic Parties, Barbara Lago’s distinct sound and energy gained her a reputable position as a resident DJ for El Pelícano, a highly regarded venue that continues to host top international DJs. This gave her a visibility that led her to tour clubs and parties all over Spain and Portugal, reaching big clubs and festivals such as Dreambeach, Florida 135, City Hall, Family Club, Lab, Rebels, El Rown Town Madrid, and sharing the booth with artists like Amelie Lens, Oscar Mulero, Paco Osuna, I Hate Models, and FJAAK.

Her name has always been linked to techno but her style has evolved since she started. Barbara Lago started her DJ career mixing melodic techno, and has evolved through acid techno to harder, industrial textures and sounds layered over driving hard techno and trance. Her sets are characterized by her raw energy — where she plays hard-hitting tracks rooted in rave culture, perfect for dark rooms and large sound systems.

She is currently developing her career as a producer. She has recently collaborated on the album “StandwithUkraine” with the Berlin label Innergate which will include her track “World in chaos” on a VA.
