Boulder Swing Dance is winding down the summer with an event that celebrates community, live music and Lindy Hop! The Boulder Swing Break and Shake features a potluck park day, three tracks of Lindy Hop classes, competitions and dancing to live music from Jeremy Mohney and His Orchestra.

Community Picnic
Info: Get to know other dancers during a potluck lunch in Scott Carpenter Park! Boulder Swing will provide the entrees. Bring a side, drink, dessert or game to share!

Intermediate/Advanced Mini-Workshop
Info: Level up your dancing with a mini-workshop, taught by some of the area’s finest instructors!
Classes will take place from 2-5:30 p.m. in the Avalon Ballroom’s Sodal Hall. The workshop costs $75, with an option to add a ticket to the dance for a discounted $15. Figure out which level is right for you by reading the course descriptions on the Boulder Swing website.

Contest Prelims
Info: The Boulder Swing Break and Shake will feature a mix-and-match competition, which pairs dancers with random partners for a chance to showcase their social dancing skills. Competitors do not need a partner to register because they will be assigned partners for each round. Cash prizes will be awarded for first- ($100/dancer), second- ($50) and third-place ($25) results.
The entry fee is $10.

Social Dance with Jeremy Mohney and His Orchestra
Info: Boulder Swing has spiced up its regularly scheduled Flatiron Stomp Dance Party! A drop-in beginner lesson will take place from 7-8 p.m. and is included in the price of admission.
Jeremy Mohney and His Orchestra take the stage at 8 p.m. for three hours of swingin’ live music!
