Ms Ellis is a fine jazz singer that is equally at home with a trio or a full jazz orchestra big band and performs extensively in Colorado with the crème de la crème of Colorado’s finest jazz musicians.
Accompanying her at the Full Cycle Café are the esteemed professors Sean McGowan-guitar and Bijoux Barbosa-Bass
Her musical life is inspired by her love of connecting with others. She is a Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts trained musician, and more recently has been taking classes in the Thompson School of Jazz Studies at C.U. Boulder.
Kat’s singing is authentic and accessible. Her gift of expression and storytelling using her emotive voice lets her cover tunes ranging from reflective to torchy, witty to sorrowful. She is the featured vocalist with the Denver Jazz Orchestra and leads a jazz quintet, quartet, and now a trio. She is a sought after free lance musician currently playing with several projects.
