The 45-minute piece composed by the Lithuanian composer Arturas Bumšteinas is called Bottlenecks due to its composition structure. This piece is combining several ideas such as elementary heterophony, simple process-forms, randomized melodies in a narrow chromatic range, ritualistic/minimalistic approach to sound, limited performative expression, and parallel tempos. The composer uses very simple expanding chromatic modes that are made into melodies using random number generator. The melodic combinations are left for the chance operation to be done. The middle part of the piece sounds like ancient Lithuanian polyphony (Sutartinės) music.///
