Programme:
Botanical watercolour painting class designed specifically for beginners who wish to explore the enchanting world of plant artistry. In this course, we will focus on mastering the fundamental techniques of watercolour painting while capturing the elegance of a sunflower. By the end of the class, you'll have the essential skills to delve into a wide array of other plant and flower paintings.
1. Introduction to Watercolour Painting:
- Understand the unique characteristics of watercolour as a medium.
- Learn about essential tools and materials needed for the class.
2. Basic Watercolour Techniques:
- Wet on Wet: Discover the magic of blending colours and creating soft gradients.
- Dry on Wet: Explore controlled brushwork and crisp edges.
3. Comprehending Light and Shadow:
- Study the interplay of light and shadow to bring dimension and depth to your artwork.
- Learn techniques to create realistic shadows and highlights on the sunflower.
4. Step-by-Step Sunflower Painting:
- Guided, hands-on demonstration of painting a sunflower using the learned techniques.
5. Individual Project Time:
- Apply your acquired skills to paint your sunflower with personalised creativity.
- Receive feedback and guidance from the instructor for continuous improvement.

Creating botanical illustrations and female portraits, her illustrations communicate a message of sustainability, feminine power and cultural elements from her home country of Brazil.

all materials are included and that students will take home a brochure with all the basic techniques we saw in class, so they can remember what they've learnt and continue practising at home.

Cancellations / Refunds
Once you have made your course booking your are committed to it. This is because our courses have very small student numbers, and often sell-out and are unavailable to others. Therefore any cancellations may result in a place not being filled, or a course not being able to run.
Cancellations are permitted up to 30 days before the start of a course, and a full refund will be issued. Refunds will not be made for cancellations less than 30 days before the start of a course. If you are unable to attend due to illness, personal or professional commitments you do not have the right to a refund.
If you wish to cancel your place on a course that has not yet started and you have a friend or colleague who can take your place we can accommodate this substitution.
If we are unable to deliver a course due to low bookings, tutor illness or venue unavailability we will process the dot-art amount of the course tickets. Please note the booking fee is non-refundable as this charge does not go to the organiser. To avoid the booking fee please book over the phone with us on 0345 017 6660 and have your card details to hand. Or you can pay in person with cash, card or cheque in dot-art Gallery, Queen Avenue, Liverpool.
