Through tasting and making, you’ll discover how plants can detoxify, nourish, and restore balance, both internally and topically. Agenda
🕑: 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Introduction to Herbal Medicine for the Skin
Info: Which organs and systems influence the health and appearance of our skin? Herbal medicine was the only medicine and goes back thousands of years. It is still the main form of medicine used by the majority of the world's population. Before exploring herbal remedies for topical use, we will focus on this internal approach, learning about herbs for the skin, tasting the herbs, and learning how to create detoxifying and healing herbal blends for treating skin issues and to look your most beautiful.
🕑: 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Herbal Oil Maceration
Info: Learn the fundamentals of topical preparations, starting with oil maceration—the oldest and most natural method for extracting the healing properties of herbs into oils. These infused oils can then serve as the foundation for creams, salves, and serums, or applied as a simple oil preparation. In this session, we will create a herbal-infused oil that can be used as a nourishing full-body treatment or incorporated into a cream or salve for targeted skin care, and learn about other ways to use this method to treat a variety of skin concerns.
🕑: 01:30 PM - 03:30 PM
Create your very own Herbal Salve
Info: Create your very own 100% natural herbal salve, carefully crafted to soothe and deeply moisturise the skin. Using a blend of nourishing plant oils, beeswax, and calming herbs, you’ll learn how to make a versatile, all-natural remedy that can be applied to dry patches, sensitive areas, or anywhere your skin needs a soothing, healing touch. This can be used to deeply moisturise and restore, as a plumping lip balm, or to soothe very inflamed skin conditions such as psoriatic plaques, eczema or nappy rash. We will discuss different herbs and oils to choose for different purposes.
🕑: 03:30 PM - 04:30 PM
Antioxidant-Rich Face Mask
Info: Create your own antioxidant-rich face mask designed to nourish your skin and make it glow. Using a blend of botanicals and clays, you’ll create a rejuvenating mask for healthy, youthful skin. This hands-on session will guide you through crafting your own botanical face mask and you will be invited to apply the face mask together (herbal facial mist and oils also provided). We provide enough for two masks, so you can take one or both home to apply another time.
🕑: 04:30 PM - 05:00 PM
Closing - Q&A
Info: Your time to ask questions and have some tea. We will provide a bag to put your goodies and booklet in so that you can recreate what you have learned.
