About this Event

Learn the art and science of sketching like a true botanist! We’ll cover the basics of botany and some scientific illustration techniques, then sketch one of the captivating plants growing right here at Golden Gate Canyon State Park.

We’ll meet at the Red Barn Group Picnic Area (9467 Drew Hill Rd, Golden, CO 80403), which is just down the road from the main Visitor Center. We'll have a brief presentation, then demonstrate techniques, and make beautiful botanical art together. All materials will be provided, and no prior experience necessary!

Please arive a few minutes early, to get set up at an art station before the class begins.

NOTES:

There will be NO CELL SERVICE at Red Barn, nor up the road from it for about 5 minutes each direction.

Parking will be at the Nott Creek Parking Lot accross the street.

A park pass is required for this event. If you do not have a pass, you can purchase one at the Visitor Center before the program starts.
