Botanical Gel Plate Printmaking
Thursday October 17, 2024
11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Instructor: Sonja Marshall
Learn how to create stunning botanical art using gel printing plates and acrylic paint. Gel plate printing is a monotype printing technique, combining the spontaneity of drawing and printmaking to create truly one-of-a-kind pieces of art. As the name for this printmaking method implies (mono), no two pieces will be alike.
You'll end class with 5-10 unique prints and a wealth of knowledge to continue using your new skills. With simple and easy-to-understand instructions, you’ll learn how to apply color and add texture with stencils, stamps and found objects. The possibilities are endless for creative exploration. It’s the perfect activity for novice crafters and professional artists alike. No experience necessary. Warning: Gel plate printmaking is addictive.
This is a very easy project for anyone to do and absolutely no art, painting or drawing experience is needed to achieve amazing results.
