Join us for Botanical Blueprints Class: A Totally Normal Amount of Sun Worship on Sunday, July 19th 12pm-2pm.
Part art class, part science experiment, part sun-powered magic.
In this hands-on cyanotype workshop, participants will learn the historic photographic printing process that creates striking blue-and-white images using sunlight and light-sensitive chemicals. We'll begin by mixing the cyanotype solution and applying it to paper before exploring composition with botanical specimens, found objects, and other ephemera.
Once your designs are arranged, we'll expose them to the sun and watch as light transforms them into one-of-a-kind prints. After rinsing and revealing the final image, you'll leave with your own collection of unique cyanotype artworks and the knowledge to continue experimenting at home.
No experience is required, and all materials are provided. Whether you're interested in art, nature, photography, or simply spending an afternoon making beautiful blue things with other curious people, this workshop is for you.
Come learn an alternative photographic process, create beautiful botanical prints, and engage in a totally reasonable amount of sun worship.
Registration: $25
