The 3rd annual Boston Kids Comics Festival, celebrating comics for children and the love of reading, is back and in person on Saturday, June 3rd after a three-year pandemic hiatus. This is a passion project of the Ashland Library Director and the Friends of the Ashland Library are happy to be a sponsor of this event.The premiere dedicated annual children’s comics festival in the country, BKCFest is a community celebration of comics, learning, and laughter for elementary and middle schoolers, and their parents, educators, and librarians. As ever, BKCFest will host a marketplace of independent comics creators, spotlighting local authors and illustrators whose work ranges from hand-crafted zines to published graphic novels. Admission is free and open to all ages.
BKCF’s free-to-all programming includes hands-on workshops, where young comics-makers can get advice and guidance from professional comics-makers as well as opportunities to draw with our exhibitors and creators. The Fest always has a host of amazing headliners, as well, so stay tuned for more information as our comic creators are confirmed.
