About this Event
Join us for a program featuring a screening of BLACK, followed by a 30-minute panel in collaboration with MAAH, Amanda Shea, and Queer History Boston.
Directed by Amir Dixon (USA, 2022), BLACK. explores Boston’s Black queer and trans history from 1970–2020, highlighting the activists, artists, and community builders who created spaces of resistance, belonging, and liberation. From Elites Boston, one of the city’s first Black gay clubs founded in 1971, to the 2020 Black Trans Resistance March, the film traces decades of organizing, survival, and cultural impact.
The event brings together film, dialogue, and performance in a community-centered celebration of Black queer culture and expression.
