About this Event
In 2020, Sasha Senior — aka BOSSLADYSK8 — made history by launching BLISS Skateshop, becoming the first Black woman to own a skateboard business in Canada. But behind the headlines, she was navigating entrepreneurship, single motherhood, and the weight of redefining what success really means.
This 30-minute documentary directed by True Daley (Toronto Star, CBC, CTV) doesn't just celebrate a milestone — it pulls back the curtain on the very human story behind it. Drawing on themes of Afro-Futurism, resilience, and community, BOSSLADYSK8 is a portrait of a woman who took up space in a white male-dominated industry and refused to shrink.
A post-screening discussion will follow.
