Join us for Southwestern Illinois’ largest summer festival, the Mascoutah Homecoming Und Augustfest, a three-day celebration of community pride, family fun, and gratitude for our local heroes. From August 1-3, 2025, Scheve Park will come alive with parades, live music, carnival rides, delicious food, and heartfelt tributes to our first responders – the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and emergency personnel who keep Mascoutah safe.
Event Highlights
Parades Honoring Our Heroes
When: Saturday, August 2, and Sunday, August 3, at 5:00 PM
Where: Main Street to Scheve Park
Celebrate our first responders with two spectacular parades featuring decorated floats, marching bands from local schools, and special appearances by fire trucks, police vehicles, and EMS teams. This year’s theme, “Hometown Heroes,” will shine through as we honor those who serve. Bring your lawn chairs and stake out a spot along Main Street for an hour of candy-tossing, music, and community spirit!
Carnival Rides & Games
Thrills for all ages await with carnival rides, games, and family-friendly activities. From classic carousel spins to heart-pounding rides, the midway is a festival highlight. Open Friday from 5:00 PM, Saturday from 1:00 PM, and Sunday from 11:00 AM.
Food & Refreshments
Savor Mascoutah’s fair food, fish sandwiches and famous German cuisine, including potato pancakes, bratwurst, knockwurst, and sweet sauerkraut. Craving something else? Enjoy festival favorites like lemon shakeups, funnel cakes, hot dogs, and snow cones. Food stands open:

4-H Exhibits & Livestock Shows
Visit the Ag Building in the north part of Scheve Park to see impressive 4-H projects and livestock displays from youth across St. Clair County. For more information, contact Darren Denise at (618) 973-5340.
Homecoming Queen Ceremony
When: Sunday, August 3, 3:00 PM
Where: Depot Stage Cheer for our 2025 Homecoming Queen candidates as they compete for the crown. Support them by purchasing raffle tickets for a chance to win exciting prizes, with the grand drawing on Saturday night.
Berger-Kiel Log House
When: Saturday, August 2, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM Step back in time at the historic Berger-Kiel Log House (c. 1863-1864), offering a glimpse into mid-19th-century rural life.
Additional Activities
Horseshoe Tournament: Test your skills in the Invitational Horseshoe Tournament.
Children’s Activities: Face painting, bounce houses, and a children’s tractor pull for the little ones.
Community Tributes: Special moments throughout the weekend to honor first responders, including recognition ceremonies and displays of emergency vehicles.
