Birmingham-based artist and photographer Vanley Burke will give an overview of his career, marking a new printing of VANLEY BURKE: BY THE RIVERS OF BIRMINAM. This publication was originally produced to accompany his first retrospective of the same name, on display at the Midlands Arts Centre in 2012.The work shows the evolution of Handsworth through Vanley’s personal and intimate journey, and is heavily centred around the British Caribbean community in Birmingham.
Vanley will discuss the key moments in his career before sharing more recent work.
Followed by questions from the floor and a book signing.
