One of the GOATs of hip hop production, the don EASY MO BEE is about as influential as they come. From The Notorious B.I.G.'s iconic "Going Back To Cali" [not to mention 6 joints off "Ready To Die"], to 2Pac's "Temptations" + "If I Die 2Nite", to Craig Mack's "Flava In Ya Ear", to Busta Rhymes' "It's A Party" + "Everything Remains Raw", to the entire "Doo Bop" album with none other than Miles Davis, Mo Bee's SP-1200 created the sound of a generation...and that's barely even scratching the surface of his illustrious discography. A diehard hip hop head from the start, he's DJ'd for legends like Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, & KRS One, while holding down a spot on the LA radio waves for the past 14 years via his Breakbeats & Rhymes show on KPFK 90.7FM. A well-respected member of all the various hip hop scenes in the city, his sets, and mere presence, always bring a smile to our face(s). Since September 2nd, 2006, Boombox has provided a home for Los Angeles hip hop lovers to gather every first Saturday of the month and celebrate the genre’s most respected DJs and producers.
