It's Time to Celebrate and Kick Off Booktoberfest 2022!About this Event
Promising Pages needs YOUR help to end the Charlotte Area Book Desert and share donated books with children with few, if any, books at home! Booktoberfest is a month-long community book drive, celebration and school year kick off and we want you to be a part of it!
Join us for our Booktoberfest Kick-Off Party to celebrate our exciting month ahead. The proceeds from this event will help enable over 8,000 students to build their home libraries with self-selected books during the 2022- 2023 school year.
Light bites will be provided and there is no cost to join us but a suggested donation of $15 or higher would be truly appreciated!
Booktoberfest is a month-long community book drive to collect new & gently-used books for under-resourced children, celebrate volunteerism, and promote a culture of book sharing.
Promising Pages is a nonprofit organization that collects new and donated books and shares them with children living in the Charlotte Area Book Desert: those with few, if any, books at home. In the 2021-2022 school year we shared over 270,000 free books with 60,000+ underserved children. Building students' home libraries and "placing books in the hands of children fundamentally influences their chances for both personal and academic success".
