Brown & Brown Architects are an award-winning studio based in Northern Scotland, who create contemporary buildings in sensitive locations. Their work centres around the rooting of modern forms in the landscape, where climate, context, and materials must be carefully balanced.
This event celebrating the launch of Brown & Brown's book- Scottish Modern will discuss the balance of creating modern buildings in a rural context, whilst still respecting the landscape.
It will be of particular interest to architects and students focused on housing design within a Scottish context, as well as practices developing or refining a residential portfolio. It will also appeal to planners, clients and built‑environment professionals interested in landscape‑led design, rural and edge‑of‑settlement housing, and the delivery of high‑quality, place‑responsive architecture such as recent Aberdeen Society of Architects (ASA) 2026 award winning project
The evening will be chaired by Natasha Radmehr, a Scottish-Iranian journalist who contributes to numerous magazines and nation newspapers as a feature writer and columnist, in addition to being the Deputy Editor of Homes & Interiors Scotland.
