Do you have a book in you? Do you need some help to coax it out? Or are you ready to meet with an agent and publisher? If so, make plans to attend the 13th annual Books In Progress Conference in Lexington, KY from May 30–June 1!Grow your writing in sessions and panels led by top authors, editors, and writing professionals. Topics include fiction, nonfiction, YA, publishing, revision, and more. This year's keynote speaker is award-winning poet and writer George Ella Lyon.
Enjoy conference sessions led by Tracee de Hahn, Julia Royston, Jessica Strawser, Marcia Thornton Jones, Leatha Kendrick and more!
Conference attendees will have the opportunity to attend panels, as well as an optional pre-conference retreat led by Ashley Blooms and a post-conference retreat led by Tracee de Hahn.
Pitch your book to a literary agent on Zoom. Our agents this year include Kate McKean (Howard Morhaim Literary Agency), Victoria Doherty-Munro (Writers House), and Chad Luibl (Janklow & Nesbit).
George Ella Lyon is an award-winning poet, writer, teacher, musician, storyteller and social activist with Appalachian roots and a global reach. She has published 10 poetry collections, two adult novels, six novels for young people and 34 children’s picture books, plus stories, songs, plays, scripts and memoirs.
