Books For Babies
Sat Jan 15 2022 at 10:15 am to 11:45 am
New Tampa Regional Library | Tampa, FL
About this Event
High Rise Hope distributes over 3,500 new or gently used children’s books annually to NICU families as part of their Books For Babies program. In the NICU, people are quieter. Nurses and physicians may not interact verbally with the babies, and parents’ visiting hours may be limited. While the importance of talking to preemies is clear, it can be awkward for parents to talk to their baby (often in an enclosed isolette) in the NICU for extended periods of time. Reading a book to their babies solves this problem! https://www.highriskhope.org/who-we-are/
You can purchase from and share this link with friends and family. You can also donate or solicit donations of gently used books.

Please bring donations with you the day of the event unless your use the amazon wishlist.
At the event, the children will hear from Mom Marisa Price whose family benighted from High Risk Hope. They will also learn about how they can help the community. For the Sunrays, the focus will be on being a good listener and following instructions. For the Rosebuds, Bluebells, and Monarchs the focus will be on what community service is and why leaders step up to help others. Both groups will participate in age-appropriate crafts and storytelling.
There will be snacks and drinks provided at the end but no meal. We will use the extra funds to provide more books to donate.
