For this month’s book club, we are diving into the delightfully gory, retro pages of Summer Camp for Slasher Victims by Matthew Mercer. If you love 1980s horror tropes—or just like yelling at fictional characters for running toward the creepy shed instead of the parking lot—this one is for you.
To lean fully into the chaos, we are turning our next meetup into an actual Summer Slasher Camp.
THE ASSIGNMENT:
+ Dress the Part: Camp outfits are highly encouraged. Think vintage camp counselor tees, tube socks, short-shorts, flannels, or your best "I'm definitely surviving until the sequel" ensemble.
+ Themed Grub & Gulp: We will have a full spread of themed drinks and snacks. Yes, there will be a creepy crimson punch. No, it is not actual blood (probably).
+ The Rules: Read the book, show up hungry, and if you hear a weird noise in the parking lot, absolutely do not go check it out alone.
