ShoutOut Saugerties presents THE TALE OF DESPEREAUX by Kate DiCamillo, a Newberry Award winning fantasy adventure story about a brave French mouse who betrays his mouse heritage because of his love of music and infatuation for the human Princess Pea. Kids can see themselves in the mouse Despereaux — too small to see up to the faces of the humans but with a fierce desire to affect change in the world.
Chapters from the novel will be read by Little Theater of Wonder actors Gary Brownlee, Hannah Munson, and Nabil Viñas followed by creative arts activity with Lisa Nicholas.
