About the book:

In Silent Witness, Ashley Spence shares the story of a brutal assault that nearly claimed her life at just 19 years old. For years, she was paralyzed by fear as her attacker remained unknown, until DNA evidence brought him to justice, ensuring he would spend nearly 138 years behind bars.

This book offers hope and healing for victims, and also is an inside look at the power of forensic DNA to create policy change, provide justice and prevent future tragedies.

Silent Witness is a heartfelt testament to the resilience of the human spirit, and the potential of science to create a safer world.

About the author:

Ashley Spence is a motivational speaker, victim advocate and founder of DNA Justice Project; a non-profit that focuses on educating the public and policy makers on the value of forensic DNA in the criminal justice system. She testifies all over the country to support legislation that will maximize the use of forensic DNA and advanced DNA technology, and has worked globally to spark conversations on how to come together to put an end to sexual violence.

Ashley is Inspired to do this work every day because of her incredible children and strong belief that every victim deserves justice.
Through healing practices of herbal medicine and teachings of yoga, she has found that beautiful, although difficult, transformations can arise out of the deepest traumas.
