Learn to make 6 book structures with Book Arts Roadshow!
This 4-hour Bookmaking Workshop: Book Set A is taught by the Co-Founders of Book Arts Roadshow and focuses on providing basic information and hands-on instruction on how to make a selection of six folded, adhesive and sewn book structures. Book structures that will be taught in this workshop are: Hidden Pocket Book, 3-Hole Pamphlet Stitch, Cased-In Binding (aka Board Covered Book), Zine Fold, Twig Book and Asian Stab Binding.
This workshop provides bookmaking beginners with an opportunity to have fun, explore a new creative outlet, and plant seeds of ideas of how books may be incorporated with existing personal art practices. No prior bookmaking experience is necessary. Students will gain insight on how each bookmaking project can be reproduced using materials and tools that are commonly found around the home and/or are reasonably easy to obtain.
Bookmaking materials for this workshop and tools to use during the workshop will be provided by Book Arts Roadshow.
