About this Event
Beginner tips for record-keeping and financial planning in a way that makes sense for anyone earning self-employment income, whether you're running a small business full time or have an income-earning side hustle, or are considering starting in 2026. This is not a tax preparation workshop and is not legal advice. Participants will leave with a better understanding of why and how to keep track of their income and expenses, with simple templates provided. This workshop is geared towards sole proprietors i.e. people running small businesses without employees.

INSTRUCTOR BIOS
Cayt's been a free-lance bookkeeper for 5 years working with other self-employed trades-people. She has a bookkeeping certificate through the community college of Philadelphia, and continued formal education through CCAC. Cayt feels strongly about empowering people considering self-employment to make that leap without feeling intimidated by the organizational or financial aspects of running a business.
Gene has experience as a 1099 contractor on a variety of projects, as well as basic bookkeeping and tax prep training. Gene has been helping his friends with financial planning and self employment financial management for the past 2 years and is excited to offer lessons learned to people new to sole proprietorship.
