About this Event

Understanding your nonprofit’s financial reports shouldn’t feel like solving a mystery. But for many organizations, confusing charts of accounts, inconsistent bookkeeping, and unclear financial statements make it hard to see the full picture. Clear, accurate financial data is essential for decision-making, board reporting, and organizational sustainability. That’s where bookkeeping comes in.


Join us for this interactive workshop, where NEW’s Financial Services team will walk you through the core components of nonprofit bookkeeping. You’ll learn how to build a chart of accounts, enter and categorize transactions, and create useful financial statements, all using QuickBooks as our demonstration tool. With better bookkeeping, your team can move from confusion to clarity and make smarter, mission-driven financial decisions.


In this workshop, you will:
  • Understand how bookkeeping practices impact financial reporting and strategy
  • Learn to create and organize a chart of accounts
  • Explore financial statement formats and what they reveal about your organization
  • Get hands-on exposure to bookkeeping tools like QuickBooks
