Bookish is our quarterly art lover’s book club where we take a deep dive into a work of art before chatting about the featured book.
About this Event

Join us as we read What Becomes A Legend Most: A Biography of Richard Avedon by award-winning photography critic Philip Gefter. The first definitive biography of Richard Avedon, a monumental photographer of the twentieth century, this book dives into this intensely driven man who endured personal and professional prejudice, struggled with deep insecurities, and mounted an existential lifelong battle to be recognized as an artist. Before we dive into discussion, Carter curator John Rohrbach will lead a tour of Avedon’s photographs that will be on view in the Carter’s collection to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Avedon’s birth.

American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation may be provided during this event upon advance request.
