The Vrinda Valley Community Garden, is located on the grounds of the Sacred India Gallery, in Bennett Springs. For the past three years, we have lovingly and mindfully tended to our community garden; carefully observing and following the garden’s guidance in creating living soil and building a garden culture of regeneration and renewal. Where there was once a space of white infertile sand, we now have soil full of life through constant regeneration of organic matter and top soil protection. We feel it is time to share some of the things we have learnt from our garden during these past three years.
This FREE workshop has been made possible by the funding we kindly received from the City of Swan
MAKING YOUR OWN COMPOST
Hot Method and Johnson-Su Bioreactor
Sat 10th August, 10am-1pm, Workshop + Lunch*
Composting is an essential skill for any gardener, beginner or experienced. Composting, is the most effective way nature recycles her nutrients, creating a bioactive food source filled with micro-organisms and macro-organisms which provide the plant with nutrients it can readily use.
In this workshop we will go through the process of how organic material is broken down and what method to use for your garden refuse. We will then build two composting systems.
