Due to popular request, I will be hosting limited, exclusive, private bookbinding Christmas workshops, where I will teach you exactly how to rebind a paperback book. You will leave with your own luxury handmade book in just 4 hours that you've made yourself! The workshops will be working through rebinding your own ACOTAR or Fourth Wing paperback book into a hardcover one-of-a-kind special editions.
I have been bookbinding as a hobby for almost 2 years and recording my progress on TikTok on my account @starlinsbookshelf, and I love the process of it as well as seeing the finished product of a handmade rebinded luxury special edition on my bookshelf at the end! It can feel like a daunting and overwhelming hobby to get started with on your own, so this workshop is designed as the perfect intensive beginner's guide to get you started. You will be taken step by step through the rebinding process, seeing exactly what it takes to rebind a paperback book in an easy, calm and fun environment where everyone is learning and making new friends at the same time!
Your £180 ticket includes:

These workshops are a great way to meet new local bookish romantasy friends, spend some time with a lovely group of people, learn a new craft and have some fun bookish Christmas shopping in between!
For those of you who don't know me - hi! My name is Starlin and my dream is to open a Romantasy-only bookshop in Oxford where I live. I want to make a place where romantasy reading is celebrated and spicy reading is encouraged. I've often felt embarassed asking booksellers in shops for recommendations, and have often felt judged for the books I love most. But reading should be about having fun, and enjoying books that make you happy (and ocassionally rip your heart out and make you ugly cry). I have personally found the Romantasy genre so empowering and so fun, and I can literally yap about my favourite books all day long. I love bringing the romantasy community together, seeing people make new friends at my events and pop-ups, and have the opportunity myself to meet like minded people I can talk about our favourite characters and romantasy series with! And of course being a shopoholic, I love curating the cutest selection of products from small businesses from around the world for you to mooch and shop from :)
The pop-up shop (which you will have private, exclusive access to throughout the workshop, includes):
📚 imported special edition romantasy books from the USA and Australia with sprayed edges!!
🛍️ the cutest tote bags
🎄 Christmas stocking stuffers GALORE
🍭 book boyfriend lollipops
🕯️ bookish candles
🎀 kindle grips and stickers
📿 keychains, accessories and pins
📖 bookmarks and stationary
☕️ book quote mugs
🧢 caps, sweatshirts and more!
ACCESS & VENUE DETAILS
This event is on the ground floor and is fully accessible! There are no step-free toilets in the shop, but there is a lovely cafe called Morito across the street with one! If you have specific requirements or questions about accessibility, please send me an email at [email protected]
I hope to see you there!!

Health & Safety Disclaimer:
For health and safety, as well as to be able to bookbind a book in 4 hours (a process that normally takes 30+ hours), there will be no cutting knives and cutting mats in this workshop, which you will have seen in most tutorial videos online. I will be including pre-cut materials for the workshop, as well as some of the more time-consuming parts of the bind that are less fun such as printing, cutting and weeding vinyls, printing and cutting endpapers and endbands, and the pre-measuring steps. You will still be doing the majority of the bookbind including creating the book jacket, glueing the fabric to the jacket, preparing your textblock with moehl and book charms, and ironing on the vinyl covers to your jacket.
