About Untethered:
Set in 1967 in Troy, Alabama, Untethered follows Katia Daniels, who works at the Pike County Group Home for Negro Boys. As she navigates the challenges of her responsibilities and her personal life, she must confront her family’s history—including a twin brother missing in Vietnam—and figure out how to make choices that reflect her own desires, not just the needs of others. The novel delves into themes of love, family, and self-discovery during a time of social transformation in the South.
