Join us for a special book talk and signing with Dr. David E. Kirkland, nationally recognized educator, scholar, and Detroit native, as he shares insights from his groundbreaking new book, .
This event will bring together educators, families, students, and community members for an engaging conversation on education, equity, and the power of centering Black children in our schools and society.
Guests will enjoy light refreshments, a chance to connect with community, and the opportunity to hear directly from Dr. Kirkland about the stories, research, and vision behind his work. Copies of Pedagogy of the Black Child will be available for purchase and signing.

About the Author:
Dr. Kirkland is a proud graduate of Detroit’s Henry Ford High School, the first in his family to graduate from college, and now a nationally respected voice in education. As founder and CEO of forwardED, he continues to work across the country to help schools implement culturally responsive and justice-centered practices—all while remaining deeply connected to his Detroit roots.
