Mark your calendars ?️ On June 22 from 1:00-4:00PM, we will be hosting a book signing with Eric Palmer, author of Static Lines: Letters from a Kansas City Paratrooper. In 2010, Palmer was given a box of letters written by his wife’s great uncle to his mother back home in Kansas City while he was serving as a paratrooper in WWII. Weaving together these letters, interviews, and research, Palmer has crafted an engaging first-hand account of a young man’s experience of the war.You will he able to purchase a signed copy of Static Lines ??
About the book: It was Christmastime, 2010, in Billings, Montana, when my father-in-law handed me a shoebox. Its contents, unknown to me at the time, sparked a curiosity, an adventure, a challenge. Inside were stacks and stacks of letters. That day I learned of a man named Sonnie Rockford, my wife's great-uncle who was a paratrooper in World War II. Sonnie was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment (H-Minus), 1st Battalion, Company C. He served for over 2 years, visited at least 6 countries, and survived 4 combat jumps.
Author Bio: Eric is a former public school administrator in Colorado. He spent 20 years in education including 12 teacher and 8 in administration. He is currently the project coordinator and parts manager at Pepper Equipment, a leading equipment distributor who provides high-quality machinery, automation, and innovative solutions for the agriculture industry. He has been married to his wife, Deborah, for 19 years and they have two school-aged boys. Eric enjoys backpacking, craft beer, burgers, leading mission trips, and spending time with his family.
