Join us for the Launch of Spicy Tasty Vegan Cuisine: An Information Guide for Melaninated People.


Naasira Ageela (Mama Naasira) is a native San Franciscan who graduated from City College San Francisco (CCSF) with an Associate of Arts from the Library Technician Department and a BA from the New College of California. Naasira is a mother of three healthy sons, married for over 40 years, and a noted Vegan Chef, Health Advocate, and Entrepreneur with over 40 years of cooking and catering experience. She has been on a plant-based lifestyle for over 40 years and vegan for over 20 years. Many consider her the best Vegan Chef in the World.


Dr. Gregory Joe Bledsoe (Dr. Joe) is a Hastings Law School Graduate, Former Teacher, and Educator for 30 years. He is also a Steps For Peace Award Recipient, a Writer, and a Performer of Music providing positive, inspirational, and Self-Empowering Messages. Dr. Joe is a health advocate and has been married for over 30 years. He is the Founder and Director of the Oakland Street Peace Festival. He has been a Vegetarian for over 20 years and a Vegan for 30 years.

In 2016, “Spicy Tasty Vegan Cuisine: An Informative Health Guide for the Melaninated (People of Color)” became the number one bestseller Nutritional Health Guide on Amazon, the largest bookstore in the world, and still is the number one bestseller today. In January 2019, “Spicy Tasty Vegan Cuisine: An Informative Guide To Healthy Living,” the book for the general public, became the UK's number one bestseller on Health and Nutrition in the United Kingdom. The authors, when speaking, will refer to their book, affectionately called “The Food Bible,” which has transformed the lives of many to healthier eating and thinking.


They have lived in The Gambia for eight years and have established a Non-Profit Healthy Ways Foundation with Naasira as the CEO/President in the United States and an NGO in The Gambia. Mama Naasira and Dr. Joe have been working with schools, the University of The Gambia, colleges, youth groups, communities, and villages, informing them of better Nutritional Health Practices. They have also established the Spicy Tasty Vegan Institute, which trains vegan chefs in The Gambia. They have trained over 40 people in the Gambia in the last seven years.
