We are delighted to host this event, perfect for the holidays!Book signing for "Charger Finds a Home", with Susan Hall and Alison Horst, Co-Authors. Book signings and meeting the book authors will be upstairs in our retail shop.
12noon: Children's event: "Reading Charger Gets a Home" to Barkley," the golden retriever, with Jen Byrne! Jen and her dog, Barkley, are a registered Therapy Dog team for KPETS (Keystone Pet-Enhanced Therapy Services, out of Lancaster, PA). This event will be held downstairs in Godfrey's retail building.
This book, written by local co-authors Susan Hall and Alison Horst, is based on a true story. Illustrated by Faith Horst. Charger has since passed away since this book was published.
Book Summary: Charger had a good life as an award-winning show dog. But he always felt like something was missing. In this heart-warming story, Charger the Bernese Mountain Dog, finds what he is looking for and learns that home is the place where you're with the people who love you most.
Charger and his handler (his Dog Mom, Susan Hall) were a registered Therapy Dog team with KPETS (Keystone Enhanced Therapy Services), based out of Lancaster.
Bernese Mountain Dog puppy, Luke, is Susan's new family member and he WILL be in attendance. Susan hopes to become a registered therapy dog team with Luke, too, some day!
FUNDRAISER FOR KPETS:
Both hardcopy books and soft cover books will be for sale on this day, as well as a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy stuffed animal for your best gift giving for this holiday season! Children will be delighted by this story and sweet stuffed animal!
10% of sales from books and stuffed animal will be donated to KPETS
