About the book
Somewhere We Feel Free brings together ten years of photographs from seven of the world's great gatherings — Glastonbury, Holi, the Kumbh Mela, Christmas in Lalibela, Carnaval in Rio, and Peru's Candelaria and Qoyllur Rit'i. Across cultures and faiths, the black-and-white images show the same impulse: to step away from everyday life in search for connection and release in a crowd. With an essay by Jean Dykstra and an interview by Janelle Lynch, in English and Spanish.
