Book Launch- The Shadow of Numbers

Calling all historical fiction lovers! Join us for the book launch of The Shadow of Numbers, by local author, Suzannah Hicks. She will read a portion of her book, answer questions (no spoilers!) and be available for discussion about the book and her journey writing it!

“Set in the aftermath of World War II, The Shadow of Numbers follows a man navigating the ruins of 1946 Nuremberg. Amidst the city’s rubble and the haunting memories of war, he grapples with his past and the moral implications of his actions during the conflict.

As he sifts through the remnants of a shattered society, he is forced to confront the choices he made and the shadows that linger in his conscience. The story follows his journey as he navigated the war years, following his actions during and after the war. This poignant historical fiction delves into themes of guilt, redemption, and the struggle to rebuild in the wake of devastation.”

Suzannah Hicks is a data and AI professional but began her education and career in history. She is originally from Kentucky but now lives in NH with her family. She is a life-longer reader and learner. Suzannah is a first-time novelist with The Shadow of Numbers. The story came to her in dream form about 35 years ago and she has carried it with her since that time, thinking about it and how one day she hoped to get it onto paper. That finally happened in 2024 and the result is her first book, The Shadow of Numbers.
