About this Event

Why do we like robots that act like humans? What kind of inner life does an insect have? And can exoplanets offer us a better home?

For fifteen years The Best Australian Science Writing has brought together the most riveting, entertaining and thought-provoking stories from Australia’s leading writers, poets and researchers. The 2025 anthology continues that tradition, exploring everything from the rise of generative AI to the sweeping impacts of global warming.

Join co-editors of the 2025 anthology Tegan Taylor and Zoe Kean for the official book launch and Bragg Prize for Science Writing Award night. The evening also features a lively panel discussion with Australia’s leading science communicators, followed by a networking reception to celebrate the best of science writing.

Whether you’re a science student, a seasoned researcher, or just curious about the world, this event is for anyone fascinated by science and the art of storytelling.
