Welcome to the book launch of “Remote and Roaming. The Practices, Meanings, and Politics of Digital Nomadism”, authored by Mari Toivanen and published by Helsinki University Press. The launch event will take place on Wednesday 17th September at 3-4pm in the lobby of Swedish School of Social Science (entrance through Yrjö Koskisen katu), University of Helsinki.
Remote and Roaming draws from extensive ethnographic fieldwork across the globe and explores the practices, meanings, and politics of digital nomadism. The book sheds light on the lived experiences of digital nomads, how they manage work and bureaucratic practicalities, and how they narrate their community, social, and family life while on the move. The volume presents new research knowledge on this rapidly growing form of lifestyle mobility in the post-Covid context.
