Models how Western and Indigenous research can work together.
Professor Bindi Bennett is a K/Gamilaroi woman, mother, and social worker. Prof Bennett’s primary research interests are in the following areas: social justice; transformational change; growing cultural responsiveness; re-Indigenising Western spaces and curriculum; human social and emotional wellbeing; exploring Indigenous Knowledge Systems in research; and exploring the human-animal bond; natural disasters.
Professor Kelly Menzel is a proud Ngadjuri woman from mid north South Australia with ancestral connections to Bundjalung Nation. She is a nurse by trade and has worked in higher education and research for 20 years. Her research area of expertise is radically challenging race-based violence in institutions, Indigenous Knowledge Systems, Indigenous Pedagogy and methodology, Aboriginal women in leadership and seeking socially just, transformational change.
